SHORE EXCURSION - EXPLORE BANGKOK
(HUE CHAN MAY PORT - BANGKOK - CHAN MY PORT
)

DAY 1: PORT - BANGKOK - VIMANMEK MANSION - KLONG TOUR - WAT ARUN - ROYAL BARGE MUSEUM (L/D)

Today you will be picked up by our private English speaking tour guide and will drive for app. 2.5 hours (depends on the traffic) to Bangkok.

You will start your sightseeing with a visit to the Vimanmek Mansion. It was built as a royal residence in the first few years of the 20th century and only used for a few years before it fell into disuse and was practically forgotten until the early eighties. It was rediscovered by Her Majesty the Queen and turned into museum reflecting the Thai heritage from the dramatic reign of King Rama V. It has now become a large complex of museums where the buildings themselves form part of the "collection" on display. Baan Khamthieng is an antique wooden house from the North which was painstakingly rebuilt in Bangkok. It serves as a museum for the Siam Society. Great place to view gardens, ancient Thai manuscripts, maps and, and, and... You will then drive to the river where you have a light lunch at Supatra Restaurant or similar.

After lunch a long tailed, speed boat whisks you down the Chao Praya River and the canals (Klongs) of Thonburi. You will drift past "floating kitchens" mobile shops and all kinds of colorful river scenery before stopping at the enchanting Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). Your sight seeing day will end at the Royal Barge Museum. Drive to the hotel for check in.

DAY 2: BANGKOK TEMPLES TOURS & GRAND PALACE - PORT
After breakfast at about 08.00 a.m. your English speaking guide will pick you up to experience the monks' early morning chanting ritual (chanting starts at 09.00 a.m.) After this uplifting and often private experience visit the temple grounds and the famous 45-metre reclining Buddha. Wat Po is the oldest and largest Wat in Bangkok. It originated in the 16th century and houses the largest reclining Buddha statue in Thailand, as well as the greatest number of Buddha images. Wat Po is also the center for traditional Thai medicine and a learning center for Thai massage.

Continue to the Grand Palace, Thailand's most important landmark, where you will be awed by the grandeur and majestic of the building and its throne halls; marvel at the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand.

After lunch at Supatra or a similar restaurant at the riverside you will drive back to your cruise. If time permits, visit the private museum of the owner Supatra. Back to your cruise!
