5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS - FROM TAIPEI TO THE SUN MOON LAKE
(TAIPEI - SANYI WOOD - SUN MOON LAKE - PULI - TAICHUNG - LUKAN - TAIPEI)

DAY 1: TAIPEI
Today's sightseeing  depends on  your arrival time.  Your first visit  will be the famous Lungshan Temple, very popular for worshiping the Guanshiyin Buddha and other divine spirits. The temple was built in Chianlung 5th year in Ching Dynasty. Due to natural disaster and damages caused by men, it was restored several times. It not only offers beautifully decorated doors, beams, and poles, a pair of bronze dragon poles in the front hall, four pairs of dragon poles in the middle hail, delicate sculptures, exquisite wood work but the temple has many Chinese poems, verses and lyrics on signs which adds a touch of literature to the religious and sightseeing value. There are traditional streets shops, antique shops, Buddhists article shops, and Chinese medicine shops surrounding the temple. A great place to visit! And of course do not miss the Huashi Street Night Market which is located nearby the Lungshan Temple. Shop till you drop and taste the Tansi noodle restaurant! Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: TAIPEI
After breakfast enjoy a full day Taipei! Start with the National Palace Museum. The Taipei National Palace Museum and the famous Forbidden City in Beijing are derived from the same institution, which was split into two as a result of the Chinese Civil War. Covering a total area of about 198 acres, It is located in the outskirts. The splendid architecture of the structure is modeled on the Forbidden City in Beijing and incorporates elements of traditional Chinese royal design in feudal society. This museum houses the largest collection of priceless Chinese artifacts and artwork in the world, including ancient bronze castings, calligraphy, scroll paintings, porcelain, jade, and rare books, many of which were possessions of the former imperial family. The full collection, which consists of some 650,000 pieces, spans many dynasties. No photographing in the Taipei National Palace Museum! Visit the Martyr's Shrine, pass by the Presidential office building and continue to the TaIwan Democracy Memorial Hall (former C.K.S. Memorial Hall). Why not having lunch at The Taipei 101 Building, built in 2004, as of today, is the tallest building in the world. Afternoon sightseeing includes the Wufenpu fashion district & Xinyi commercial district. By night your guide joins you to the Raohe Night Market which is the very first night market in Taipei. Find various characteristic snacks which are renowned at home and abroad. Tidy, comfortable, quality goods, reasonable prices, and customer service, are the goals of the Raohe Street Night Market. Overnight in Taipei.

DAY 3: TAIPEI - SUN MOON LAKE
After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel and depart for Puli, a cultural and artistic city described as heaven on earth.  Puli is Taiwan's geographical center. The weather is mild throughout the year. Continue to Sun Moon Lake. Surrounded by green mountains, Sun Moon Lake is the pearl of Central Taiwan and is the largest natural lake in Taiwan. The Eastern part of the lake is round like the sun, while the Western part is shaped like a crescent moon - hence the name "Sun Moon Lake". Continue on to Wen Wu Temple, Tehua Village, Tse-En Pagoda, and Holy Monk Shrine. Overnight at Sun Moon Lake. The balance of your day is at leisure. Overnight.

DAY 4: SUN MOON LAKE - TAICHUNG - LUKANG - SANYI - TAIPEI
After breakfast, proceed to Taichung City and Lukang. Explore the historical and cultural town of Lukang. It features some of Taiwan's most spectacular temple carvings and architecture. Lukang Historic Area, was once a significant town during the immigration time back to the Ching Dynasty. Many historical sites are still under well maintenance. Enjoy a stroll in the streets of this old town. You will be back to Taipei in the late afternoon. Not enough of markets? Visit on your own in the evening: The Shih Lin Night Market. This seemingly never-closing night market is just minutes away from the downtown area. The market is not only Taipei's largest; it is also one of the oldest. It springs to life in the evening hours with carnival games and a great selection of shops selling clothing, shoes, jewelry, tourist gifts, tools, pets and much more. Every corner offers new surprises! Although the scents may borderline on pungent at times, the food here is tasty, with popular fare including tofu, Chinese sausage, and Portuguese egg tarts. The place is open in the afternoon to early morning daily.

DAY 5: TAIPEI / DEPARTURE
After breakfast free at your leisure until transfer to the Taoyuan Int'l Airport.
